Match report Saturday 5th May, the sun was in no mood to show its face, the ground was muddy and there was a biting chill in the air. Was anything going to stop the mighty 3XIs from participating in their 1st match of the season? Hell no!

Hillingdon Manor Cricket Club (HMCC) won the toss and elected to bowl. Town unfortunately lost J.Bentvelzen off an excellent opening spell from HMCC. S.Thakrar (18, 1x4s) and T.Katira (16, 1x4s) steadied the ship to ensure Town notched up 39runs, before S.Thakrar was caught off a wonderful driving shot closely followed by T.Katira after 44 runs were on the board. Town suffered two further losses with R.Patel and J.Sagoo with 47 runs on the board. Enter M.Vadgama (51, 1x6s, 6x4s) and U.Bhattacharya (23, 5x4s) collectively ensured Town reached a respectable 108 with a dazzling show of boundary hitting. Town went on to set HMCC a target of 130 to chase.

Like Town; HMCC where immediately under pressure losing their first wicket after scoring just 6 runs. G.Singh punished Town by scoring a very respectable 45, however, whilst G.Singh was steadily building his innings wickets were tumbling at the other end with S.Bashir, T.Katria, M.Vadgama, V.Bhattacharya and J.Sagoo all taking a wicket each whilst delivering some economical bowling. This crippled HMCC’s progress towards the required target. However, HMCC’s undoing was largely down to the bowling of S.Dave. S.Dave provided a scintillating blowing spell of 8 overs, 11 runs for 5 wickets.

P.Tailor provided some outstanding wicket keeping capabilities whist everyone on the team was outstanding on the field. The net accumulation was that HMCC fell short of the Target by 13runs.
