Match report Northwood Town won the toss and decided to bat.

New opening pair Vadgama and Fozan opened the batting. After an unlucky LBW from Fozan, ex-captain and Michael Lister who had been promoted up the order came to the crease to put on a brilliant partnership with Vadgama. Running between the wickets well and putting away the bad ball, Town built a useful foundation. Loomba in at 5 rotated well as Vadgama looked to accelerate the scoring. Taking his chance at the top of the order, Vadgamas brilliant knock of 86 was ended after some excellent work behind from the keeper to stump Vadgama for 86. Patient when needed, risky when needed, Vadgamas mature innings was a joy to watch. Decent cameos at the end from Cotton and Maulin got town to 229 off 51 when Loomba decided to declare to give Town an extra couple of over to bowl at Hertford.

In response, an energised Lawrence (15-4-25) was on fire early on, taking early wickets and putting Town firmly in the driving seat. With a couple of wickets from 1s debutant Maulin Patel, Hertford were suddenly scrambling for the draw. With forward defence after forward defence, Town were patient and wickets still came. With Hertford 9 down and blocking everything, Loomba was running out of ideas with with only 6 overs left to get the final wicket. Taking a punt, he gave the ball to Michael Lister who bowled 5 away swingers, frustratingly not making the batsman play. 6th ball was the inswinger, taking the batsmen by surprise, swinging between bat and pad to clip the leg stump bail. 1s get their first win on the board and the balcony erupts.
