Match report On the back of a couple of disappointing losses, Town travelled to Reed with hope of bringing their season back on track, still with plenty to play for. Winning the toss at a ground that is renown to be batting friendly, it was unsurprising when Town won the toss and elected to bat.

Patel and Loomba started quickly, punishing anything wayward from the in swinging opening pair and building a 72 run opening partnership before losing Patel in the 12th over followed soon after by Lister and Loomba both falling to the quick and aggressive J. Tidey. Burt and Vadgama batted with real patience to rebuild. Burty in particular continuing his excellent form this season and bringing up another half century. With some contribution from Mekwan, Town finished on 224 all out after only batting 44 overs, which they believed was a below par score on this wicket.

In response, Reed started off just as quick and getting to an opening stand of 57 off 10 overs with Daly picking up the crucial wicket of the opposing captain. Lawrence bowled in good harmony with best friend and best man Daly restricting the opposition before the return of Veer Vadgama. A key cog to this XI that has been missing for the previous 4 weeks, Vadgama reminded his team mates what he is all about. Bowling with incredible accuracy and skill, he rolled through 6 of the Reed batsmen along with Chandana Silva supporting him at the other end. Vadgama, despite getting hit for 20 in one over from J. Tidey, kept his nerve and brought home the victory for Town after an almost unplayable spell which even had a hat-trick chance in there.

Town welcome second place Leverstock Green CC next week in a must win game to keep the battle for second place alive.
