Match report Towns disappointing form continued with a loss at home to Ampthill Town. Losing the toss, town were unsurprisingly asked to bat first on a green wicket with heavy cloud cover.

Right from the 2nd over town lost regular wickets and never once looked like building a partnership with Mcleod ripping through the town top order with some excellent seam bowling. Burt showed some fight in the middle order with useful knocks from Kotecha and Silva too, Town just about managed to post 96.

In response, Ampthill were always in control and played sensibly to get closer to the target. Town disapppointingly lost Raj Kotecha who dislocated his shoulder attempting to take a catch in the slip cordon. Everyone at the club wishes Raj well. Sajid Malik deservedly got some return for his hard work picking up 2 wickets and a good run out from Motiwala. Inevitably though, Ampthill chased the target down with ease shattering Towns slim promotion hopes.

Loomba refused to comment after the game.
