Match report Town's 2nd XI arrived at Little Berko on a hot and sunny day, looking to get back to the winning ways. After winning the toss, town decided to bat 1st. Town openers, Mekwan and Ramawat opened the innings with a positive intent but soon lost Ramawat while Mekhwan was going great from one end. Mekhwan and Pandey build a partnership of 36 before Mekhwan got out trying to smash the bowler into the sight-screen. As it has been the case all season, Town soon lost 3 more wickets in the form of Pandey, K Patel and Unalkat leaving scoreline 70 for 5 in 18 overs. This brought P Patel and R Patel together and they both batted sensibly to build a partnership of 34 before R Patel got out trying to clear mid-on. P Patel who started to open up and played some lovely shots to anything loose got out coming down the pitch to hit one over the bowlers head. S Patel, tried is best to build the innings with every other remainning batsmen but finally ran out of them and town finished their innings in 37th overs with a score of 153.

After having a lovely tea, town took to the field with a belief that this score could be defended. Syed and Malik opened the innings and Syed was soon rewarded for some excellent line and lengths, trapping the openers in front of the wickets. Town debutant Avadani, coming in as 1st change, soon found his lengths and got Berko's 2 & 3 in quick succession leaving Berko scoreline at 40 for 3 in 16 overs. P Patel bowling from other end was also bowling in the right areas and was soon rewarded with the help from Ramawat with a sharp catch, making the scoreline 70 for 4. Town knew that it was now a matter of couple of wickets. P Patel who found his perfect spot was looking very threatening, was denied 3 very close lbw shouts against Bat 5 when he was still on 0, who later on started playing aggressive to put the pressure back on town. Soon he took Berko past 130 and from there on, it was just a matter of time before they closed the game, which they did in 33rd over without loosing any further wickets.

A little bit disappointment with the batting efforts, again letting down a lion hearted bowling effort. If we are to be considered a good team, we must regroup and come back strongly next game at home against Northchurch.
