Match report After the toss had been done, Town was put into bowl first so Henry Myring and Sajid geared up to breaking the opening partnership. Bowling consistently and with their tight lines, Sajid forced an error from one of the openers early on, resulting in a great catch from Neel Kalhan and the first wicket for Town. After their opening spell, in came in Hiren and Keval, bowling well together and complimenting each other as they bowled tight and didn’t give much. Keval taking two wickets and Hiren taking 1 really helped Town cut down on the runs being scored by Abbots Langley, especially with their #1, #5 and #6 all scoring 50’s, taking Abbots Langley to a good total of 237.

After a short tea break, Town headed into bat and Ravi and Keeran went in to open and look positive in this run chase. Town started okay, Ravi scoring a few boundaries and Keeran hitting a six, but Town’s batting didn’t last long, with batsmen getting starts and then getting out. Abbots Langley’s bowlers were consistent, accurate and clever, patiently putting the pressure on Town, allowing the Town batsmen to make mistakes. Slow dismissals through the course of the team meant that Town ended up with 95 -10 in 25.5, well off their target and a very heavy defeat. Consistency from the team was what was lacking and that was something that we will look to fix, going into next week’s game. A few defeats in a row put us in a bad spot so we need a win soon to help lift the team back up. Onto next week!
