Match report A sunny day bought NTCC 3s to King George V playing fields in Watford against next door rivals Bushey 3s. A lost toss saw Bushey deciding to bat first on a dry and cracking pitch.

Our bowling and fielding today was top notch. Our first ten overs conceding only 18 runs, the opening batsmen unable to detect the direction of Thomas's deliveries and unable to read the swing of Atul bought early frustration. Wickets then fell regularly up to the 20 over drinks break at which Bushey were tetering at 61 for 4. Great catching in the in and outfield saw Thinooach take 3 wickets and all star Pandey bowling 3 overs for a miserly 10 runs and picking up a wicket too. After drinks, Het jumped in on the action and bowled superbly with guile and grace (despite a lingering leg injury) picking himself up 3 wickets for 15 runs in 5 overs. A late flurry from Bushey's no 7 added 30 to the score , however the re-introduction of Atul (2 wickets) cleaned-up the tail enders to set NTCC at target of 101 to win.

Our run chase started positively with openers Kunal and Pradip building a solid platform in the first 9 overs. Kunal's display of patience and power elevated his innings to one of supremacy and fortitude as he weaved his way through good and bad deliveries to carve out a Michaelangelo' esque innings of 46. It was a pleasure to watch Kunal as he pierced the gaps and punished the boundaries to keep well within the asking run rate. At the other end Kunal was supported stealthily by Hardik who scored a valuable 15 in their partnership of 56. The run chase ended in the 30th over with NTCC only losing 4 wickets with Smit and Jaymin carrying their bats.

A superb performance against a win hungry team. Great to see the fielding raised several notches today. Let's keep up the hard work and focus into next Saturday.
