Match report Wet weather continued this week and Town 2nd XI were much lucky to get a game due to overnight persistent rain. Town lost the toss and were asked to field first.

Town started with P Patel and debutant Rajani playing his 1st game for the club and particularly found the crease landing a bit slippery and hence couldn't settle into a rhythm. On the other hand Patel bowled beautifully with good control and was specially unlucky as Town dropped a few chances early on.

Albite a slow but solid start, SKLP were 25/0 at the end of 10 overs. A bowling change and spin was introduced from both ends. Puwar resumed from where he had left last year, taking 3 wickets in each of his overs and Kayani again bowled beautifully to keep the other end tight. Scoring runs was hard but SKLP kept building small partnership despite loosing wickets at the regular interval and ended up scoring 146 for 9 in their 40 overs.

A good tea and town started the run chase with Halai and Ramawat but both fell in quick succession to some clever bowling by Hirani. Another town debutant Wassim studied the ship and played with some control and kept the score board ticking but unfortunately none of the Town middle order could carry on after making a good start. A noticeable performance from a 16 year old SKVP Ruda who bamboozled lower middle order with his spin variation as it was hard for the batsman to tell which way the ball would turn. A small partnership towards the end between Puwar and Rajani worth 25 runs but it was too little too late and town finished their innings well short of 146 target.

Town lost the match by 44 runs but some good performances by two of the debutants - Wassim/Rajani and Mr 2s (Puwar) with both bowl and bat.

We as an individuals take learnings from this game and come back stronger into the last friendly match of the season next week before the league starts. Lots of positives but equally a lot of scope for improvements for all.
