NORTHWOOD TOWN CRICKET CLUB begin their 2010 season on saturday with their traditional opener following at Hillingdon Manor on sunday. New skipper David Bushnell will use the friendly matches to assess his squad on what promises to be a transitional year for the Chestnut Avenue based club.

Town have been boosted on the eve of the season by securing a sponsorship deal with The William Jolle, the JD Wetherspoon public house based in Northwood Hills. This is the third season that the two have joined forces and will help Town continue their development.

Dave Francis, manager of the William Jolle, is delighted to be assisting the club again:
"We have enjoyed a fruitful relationship and we are always delighted to help the local community. Northwood Town continue to show that they are the most progressive and well run club in the area. We know they will use our sponsorship for the benefit of the community.'

Town Vice President Gerry Pimm welcomed the deal:
"This is a tremendous gesture from wetherspoons and we are appreciative of their support. We look forward to working in partnership for another season.'
