NORTHWOOD TOWN CRICKET CLUB held its AGM on Friday and reflected on a successful year off the pitch with a large increase in membership meaning that the club will be entering a third team in the league for the first time in over 15 years.
Ben Rawson-Jones was elected as Chairman with Richard Robbins replacing him as Secretary. Robbins was awarded the clubman of the year following his sterling efforts off the pitch. Dave Harding enters his 40th year at the club and is still a regular in the second eleven. His remarkable service will be recognised with a benefit match during the season.
David Bushnell will continue to captain the first eleven in the 2011 season, with Neil Cheesewright taking on the 2nd X1 and Taz Katira skippering the reformed third eleven. Abdul Firefire will captain the sunday eleven.
Town are always looking for new members and prospective players are welcome at winter nets, held every Sunday at Nower Hill School, 10am-12.00.
