Match report TOWN'S 2nd X1 were blown away by Chipperfield and Clarendon as they lost by 128 runs following a dreadful day in the field.
The hosts produced a remarkable first wicket partnership of 196 as Town bowled and fielded terribly. Numerous chances were dropped whilst the bowling lacked any sort of quality as Chipperfield took full advantage. Only Dave Harding showed any sort of application and he was to take the only wicket as the hosts declared on an impressive 313-1 off just 40 overs. Tinsley scored an unbeaten 170 for the visitors.
In reply, Town's day was getting worse as they collapsed to 11-3 and 107-7. Pradip Panday stood out for the visitors with 38 whilst Neal Furmenger (39) and Neil Cheeswright (12*) offered some resistance with a last wicket partnership of 51. Town were dismissed for 185, with extras top scoring with a faultless 58.
A day at the office best forgotten for the Town second string.
