Match report On electing to field on a hot afternoon skipper Dave Harding's decision seemed to be correct when despite ragged bowling the Town had reduced Stevenage to 103 for 6 wickets. Unfortunately this good position was rapidly eroded when Stevenage's Shaw proceeded to score his maiden century with some fine attacking shots which meant that they were able to declare on 263 for 9 after 52 overs.
Chasing a score of this magnitude was always going to be too challenging for the Town and the early dismissal of Ali Chaudry did not help the cause. But fine innings from Rukshan Senayaka with 46, Akshay Loomba with 49 and Summet Khetia with 33 meant that Northwood finished on 187 for 6 wickets which in the conditions was an excellent response and enabled the Town to finish with their first draw of the season.
Special mention once again must go to wicketkeeper Neil Cheesewright who performed miracles behind the stumps collecting four catches as well as many bruises as the Towns bowling continued to be wayward in direction and young Conor O'Neill also deserved praise for an oustanding fielding display.
