Match report THE re-emergence of the 3rd X1 has been the real highlight of the Town season and it was fitting that they were involved in the best game of the day, falling 38 runs short of victory.
Fielding first, Town began bowling with a disciplined line and Meeth Katira finished with impressive figures of 6-2-9-2.
Wickets were falling regularly and Town looked set to be chasing a meagre total. However, T.Moss who had been playing cautiously all game was reminded by the Town that it wasnt a test match and he responded by smashing the ball
everywhere! He finished on 136 as the hosts finished on 225. Rehan Hussain took an excellent 4-32 and Mitesh Parmar 3-63 for Town.

In reply, the visitors opened with an excellent partnership of 66 with Havan Patel (73) and Rajul Patel (11) playing sensible and attacking cricket. The usual Town collapse was unfortunately to ensue before skipper Tarang Katira (20) steadied things down. Vipul Patel (30) and Meeth Katira (16) then went for victory in an aggressive 9th wicket partnership. Nevertheless,
their hopes were in vain and Town were to be dismissed just short of their target. Skipper Katira was delighted with the attitude and performance of all the players.
