Match report SKIPPER David Bushnell led by example with a magnificent seven wicket display as Northwood Town picked up their second victory in a row and climbed out of the relegation zone, albeit by a solitary point.
Winning the toss, Town elected to field in a game they knew they had to win to stand a chance of retaining their status in Division four. Bushnell and Veer Vadgama once again led the bowling attack effectively as the visitors struggled to cope on a lively track. Remarkably, Knebworth lost four wickets with the score on 58 as they crumbled to 58-7. A late rally sneaked the visitors over the 100 scoreline, but only by the one run as Town pressed home the advantage. Vadgama took 3-37 off 16 overs but it was Bushnell who stole the show, returning tremendous figures of 21-8-36-7.
In reply, Scott Walker (13) and Ishmeet Singh (21) looked solid at times but at 52-5, the hosts were in a nervous position.
Once again, vice skipper Michael Lister and Skipper Bushnell (10*) steadied the nerves and guided Town home with a 50
partnership. Lister in particular looked in fine form with an unbeaten 43 and the hosts were able to take satisfaction for a job well done.
