Match report NORTHWOOD TOWN lost by an agonising two runs as controversial umpiring decisions cost the hosts a massive boost in their survival hopes.

Bowling first, skipper David Bushnell once again led by example as he took 7 wickets for the second match in succession. Town bowled and fielded with a purpose with Dom Whyley taking 2-21 as the visitors struggled to build a defendable total. Sawbridgeworth were bowled out for 132 with Bushnell taking a remarkable 7-63 off 25.2 overs.

In reply, Town realised what they were up against as Scott Walker was dismissed for lbw that caused a bruise on his thigh. The pressure was on and Town struggled to keep cope with the pressure despite 21 from Veer Vadgama. However, the hosts looked to have taken the initiative before Raj Kotecha was given out lbw for a ball clearly flying a mile over the stumps.

The crucial decisions worked for the visitors as Town were dismissed in the final over, needing just three runs to win.
