Match report Town lost the toss and was asked to field. Town stuck to its guns well despite an early onslaught from the opposition’s openers, and recovered from a position of the opposition being 73-0 to bowling the opposition out for 149, thanks to some very disciplined bowling from Town’s bowlers – Prakash Tailor (40/4), Tarang Katira (38/3) and Mitesh Parmar (31/2).

The bowlers were backed by some excellent ground fielding and catching once again, led this time by Rajul Patel - who took two good catches and effected yet another run-out – and Tarang Katira – who took two sharp chances at point and extra-cover.

This report wouldn’t be complete without a mention to the fantastic crowd support from the 2s team, without whose support Town 3’s comeback would have been impossible. Arran must get particular mention for his honking support!

Chasing 150 on a flat track in 46 overs, Town’s chase should have been easy, but was cut short by some very disciplined bowling from the opposition, and the lack of a good defence from Town, calling for more time in the nets, as 7 of Town’s batsmen were out bowled. However, one partnership worth note was the 52-run stand between Rajul Patel (42, 4x4s) and Ravi Ramawat (24, 3x4s), both of whom yet again showed good resilience.

Overall - problem areas identified, beer drunk, curry eaten, new plans in place – now down to the execution!
