Match report Town’s Sunday XI kicked off the season with an exciting match that resulted in a disappointing loss to Roxbourne.

With some new faces amongst the ranks; Town lost the toss and were put into bat by the opposition. Despite suffering a top innings collapse Town did manage to score 164 thanks largely to a mature innings of 33 from Suvin Mekwan ably assisted by Michael Lister (37). After a mid-order collapse Bobby Graham scored a season high 35 in a partnership worth 61 with exciting prospect; Skantha Sundaralingam (20).

Although Town’s bowling line-up lacked experience; they made up for this with plenty of effort. Rizvi 3-46 was the pick of the bowlers with his probing left arm cutters and the excellent Bobby Graham was unlucky not to get any reward for his stint.

Captain Firfire looks forward to the season ahead with enthusiasm and optimism; looking to his team for a bit more discipline that will undoubtedly lead to positive results.
