Match report June 16th 2012, league match number six for the Mighty 3s. Match played at home against Knebworth Park VI (KP6).

Having beaten the Mighty 3s last season and scored 200 and 149 runs in their earlier matches this season the Mighty 3s were not going to take this customer lightly. Town won the toss and elected to bowl. As ever the dynamic duo that is M.Parmar (11ovrs, 6mdn, 12runs, 3wkts) and M.Katira (6ovrs, 2mdns, 6runs, 1wkts) provided their ever reliable spell of quality bowling. Together they saw off the first three batsman with just two runs on the board causing a bottleneck of enormous pressure. First bowling change saw M.Vadgama (5ovrs, 4mdn, 1run, 5wkts) and this was the beginning of the end for KP6. To compound the loss of their earlier 3 quick wickets M.Vadgama polished off a further 5 wickets for an unbelievable 1 run. V.Manek (0.3ovrs, 0mdn, 1run, 1wkts) wasted no time removing the remaining last wicket.

S.Malik (12 not out, 3x4s) was not in a mood to hang around and together with S.Thakrar(7 not out) made very light work of the 21 target run chase.

A comprehensive display of precision bowling, superb wicket keeping, outstanding fielding and all round team continuity – “the Mighty 3s march on, this battle may have been won but the war continues - keep up it gents we have a long way to go”.

Next stop Wheathampstead III for the Mighty 3s.
