Match report Aug 11th 2012, league match number thirteen for the Mighty 3s. Match played away against Botany Bay IV (BB4). Town won the toss and elected to bowl.

Town’s M.Vadgama (16ovrs, 4mdn, 34runs, 1wkts), J.Daly(16ovrs, 2mdn, 45runs, 5wkts), T.Katira (10ovrs, 4mdn, 16runs, 0wkts) and S.Malik (5ovrs, 2mdn, 9runs, 0wkts) provided a bowling attack which proved all too much for all but two of Botany Bay’s batsman. Had it not been for S.Stanlee(34not out) and A.Welch(32runs) BB4 would have struggled to achieve half of their final total of 121 runs. Uncommon to the norm Town’s fielders, had a terrible day in the field. Simple catching (circa 6) opportunities were dropped and numerous boundaries were needlessly conceded.

With a target of 122 to clinch yet another win, Town started by losing two wickets before Dave “The Legend” Harding (19, 2x4s) once again steadied the ship and collectively with a scintillating performance by E.Johnson (47, 7x4s,1x6) and H.Patel(24, 3x4s) finishing touch helped clock up 114 runs for 4wkts. With just 8 runs to win Town’s batsman got excited and through a moment of madness Town lost a further 3 wickets before sealing the victory.
