Match report Northwood Town travelled to Boxmoor on what was a must win game to secure promotion in the chess valley league. The opening partnership between K. Sanghi and V. Vadgama was almost faultless with the pair batting maturely yet putting the bad balls away. They rotated the strike well and played classy textbook shots to put town in a very strong position. The 159 opening partnership ended as a comeback over from away captain Humphrey took 3 wickets in one over to potentially turn the game on its head. From their on the remaining batsmen chipped in here and there but no real partnership existed from there on with only A. Firfire showing any real graft with a well fought 17. Town finished their innings on 231-9 off 45 overs.

In reply S. Dave and D. Bushnell took the new ball and aimed to restrict the away team early. A bowling change which introduced A. Hills to the attack changed the game taking 3 wickets including the important wicket of Humphrey with a fantastic catch from Ravi Kotecha. With several drop catches, Boxmoor looked to get back into the game late on but Town still managed to pick up regular wickets with Vadgama, Bentvelzen and Raj Kotecha all picking up wickets.
