Match report NORTHWOOD TOWN'S 2ND X1 squeezed out a disappointing draw with Hatfield in a game they would have felt they should have done better in.

Winning the toss skipper Adam Hills elected to field and the visitors took early advantage as they opened up with a partnership of 66. However, Musharaf Malik was introduced and took 3-37 off eight very productive overs. Peter Hornett made a welcome comeback snaring 2-43 off eleven overs whilst Sumit Siddarth also claimed two wickets. Town had dragged themselves back into a strong position as the visitors were struggling on 124-6. However, bowling rotation failed to work and Hatfield took full advantage of the lack of fluidity and forced their way back into the game, finishing their innings on 206-7.

In reply Hills started well for Town with a quickfire 33 but Town failed to build on this despite several promising starts. Mike Peacock carved out 26 whilst Alan Armitage was unlucky to fall one short of his half century. Jonno Armitage hit 17 but there was little other support and the hosts tamely held out for the draw, finishing the game at 184-9.
