Match report NORTHWOOD TOWN'S 2nd X1 played out an entertaining game with Boxmoor, but will have been disappointed to throw away an excellent chance of victory.
Losing the toss, Town were asked to field and pegged the hosts down early on with some disciplined bowling and fielding. Former Town player Aidan Pimm was the main thorn in the visitors side as he battled for a patient but critical 75 before being caught out by brother Dan. Tim Piper was the pick of the Town bowlers taking 4-24 whilst Jim Cotton took 2-12 off eleven overs. The hosts finished their innings on 195-9.

In reply, Neil Dudley was an early casualty but Phil Carter and Tim Piper took control to give Town a real chance of victory. Carter carved out a very impressive 80 in a 104 partnership with Piper (21) but once these two were dismissed, the remainder of the batsmen were unable to maintain the momentum. Only skipper Adam Hills (18) showed any sort of fight as Town were dismissed for a disappointing 157.

Skipper Hills was bitterly disappointed with the result:
"In recent weeks our bowling and fielding has let us down. We bossed the majority of this game and at 112/1, we should have picked up a massively important 30 points. We are now very much in a relegation dogfight and need to up our game. We wont get by just producing in one aspect of the game as seems to be week in week out."
