Match report NORTHWOOD TOWN completed their pre-season matches with a five wicket defeat away at Cockfosters in what was a very competitive and useful work out.
With Raj Ahluwalia absent, Rohan Lee skippered the side and elected to bat on what looked a good wicket. Brendan Heaney (28) and Dave Bushnell (17) opened the batting with a partnership of 47. The returning Brendan Dwyer came in at three once Bushnell was dismissed and carved out 25 before Phil Costard once again looked impressive with an assured 41. Richard Doling and Johanes Van EE both hit unbeaten 20s as Town finished on 194-6. In reply, Lee decided to rotate all the bowlers to ensure a good work out was had by all. Bushnell claimed two wickets whilst Heaney, Costard and Dwyer all took one each but Cockfosters had a strong batting line up and they eased home with a couple of overs to go for the loss of five wickets.

Lee was delighted with the work out:
"It was important that everyone got a good bowl and bat and we deliberately rotated our bowlers to allow them all to get a good session. It was a good competitive match which is exactly what we needed. It's been a positive pre-season and we are confident that we are ready for the league campaign."
