Match report NORTHWOOD TOWN won an exciting encounter against Eastcote to maintain their unbeaten Chess Valley run. Dean Barker was the star of the show as he scored a chanceless 101 not out. Brendan Heaney hit 40 as Town looked set for a big total at 130-1. However some wayward shots saw the hosts fail to take advantage and they ended up on 234 when a score over 250 should have been straightforward. Skipper Dave Bushnell decided to rotate his bowling to give everyone a game and he was to use eight bowlers in the match. Bushnell (3-45) and Phil Costard (2-33) elected to spin and had success but the game reached an exciting climax as the visitors needed just four in the last over to snatch victory. However, Johanes Van Ee ensured only two runs were conceded and an injury ravaged Town won the game by just one run.
