Match report Town hosted the unbeaten league leaders in what promised to be their biggest game since promotion last year.

After losing the toss, Town took to the field determined to continue their good form of recent weeks.

Khetia's rousing team talk clearly had the men fired up and Town began brilliantly with Vadgama and Meeth Katira controlling the scoring and creating numerous chances. Katira was deservedly rewarded, removing the top 3 batsmen in quick succession leaving Elizabethans reeling.

With Town in complete control Graham was brought into the attack to continue the carnage spinning off 3 wicket maidens in succession. With Vadgama finally breaking through at the other end, the league leaders were stunned.

With Taz Katira replacing Vadgama, the stifling pressure continued, but Elizabethans were showing the resolve that had won them so many games. More changes were made though and promptly, more wickets fell, with both Khetia and Doshi taking wickets in their first overs. When Khetia polished off the innings, the visitors were stunned and had been skittled for just 95 off 34.2 overs.

In response, Pandey and the exceptional Kunal Patel all but put the game to bed with a solid opening partnership of 51 before Pandey nicked behind. Graham and Kotecha both scored quickly, but it was the clean hitting of Patel (56 not out), that saw Town home off just 26.2 overs.

After the game Khetia was understandably delighted - "We always knew it would take something special to pull off the victory, but to do it in that manner was something else. The lads were on another level today, simply magnificent."
