Match report Having lost the toss, Town were sent into the field first up.

With the visitors keen to set the pace, runs came at a brisk rate initially despite some excellent bowling. It was Maulin Patel who began the drama though with a triple wicket maiden, narrowly missing a hattrick on his 2s debut!

Runs continued to flow at the other end though, with the Potters Bar top order making a greenish track look like a road. That was until Daly sparked another collapse with some excellent pace bowling.

With the visitors reeling and 7 down at drinks, Town went for the kill with Maulin making another breakthrough. A spirited and determined partnership though, took the visitors reach 176 all out.

In response, Town grafted through some excellent opening bowling from Zaffer who conceded just 1 off 10 overs!

Thereafter a partnership of 89 between Ramawat and Haji put Town in control. But, as is always the Town way, drama was never far away. A comical runout brought the visitors back into the game and when Kotecha learned that you can never place a shot too near a pensioner the Town collapse was truly underway.

100 for 1 soon became 115 for 5 and despite some dogged resistance from the tail, 10 runs off the final over proved just too much.

Khetia remained upbeat after the game. "The positives that we can take out of this game far outweigh the defeat itself. There were some incredible individual performances - if we stitch those together and run off a little rustiness, we'll be winning games soon enough."
