Match report Great result for NTCC IIIs to start the season!

Having lost the toss, Town was put into bat. Some smart and high quality bowling from Chipperfield Clarenden's opening bowlers soon left Town reeling at 9/4. In came debutant Mohamad Vanker to the rescue, fluidly scoring all around the ground, and stringing together two more-than-useful partnerships with Salman Rizvi and the in-form Prakash Tailor. With some handy hitting down the order from Nic Patel, Town somehow climbed it's way back to a very respectable (in the circumstances!) 159 all out. A great show of resilience by the middle and lower order so early in the season.

With a feeling that Town was probably still a few runs short, Town entered the field determined to be very tight with the bowling and fielding, and Town did just that. Mitesh Parmar and Taz Katira kept it tight in their opening spell, and were followed by deadly accuracy from Salman Rizvi, who claimed three wickets. Nic Patel at the other end continued to show great bowling form and also picked up two wickets. Pradip Pandey cleaned up the tail in a tight spell with some great deliveries, and was well supported by debutant Rabi Motywala at the other end, with the latter also impressing with his livewire ground fielding.

Ultimately all of Town's bowlers and the fielders continued to apply relentless pressure and the opposition's regular loss of wickets led Town to claim its first league victory in its first game. More of the same in games to come, lads. Today was phenomenal! Great team effort, so well done all around.
