Match report Northwood Town loss the game by 22 runs. Barring a second cosecutive top order collapse, credit must be given to the bowlers, fielders and mid/lower order bastmen for yet another spirited performance.

Losing the toss, Town was asked to field first. After a couple of overs, Meeth Katira and Mitesh Parmar settled into a nice rhythm, with the latter ending up with enviable match figures of 7-2-11-3. First change bowlers Nic Patel and comeback man Minesh Vadgama showed tight control of line and length to build pressure in the middle overs, before Taz Katira ran through the batters with his right arm pies, picking up a five-for.

With 124 to chase, Town was in high spirits at team. However, a second consecutive top order collapse saw Town reeling at 16/5, after which point a win was always going to require a miracle. Town's middle and lower order yet again almost pulled it off with spirited batting from Mohamad Vanker and Prakash Tailor; the former batted with maturity under pressure, while the latter yet again played with born-again fluency. Minesh Vadgama, Meeth Katira and Mitesh Parmar all showed solid technique and fight, but unfortunately for Town, it was all too little too late.

Kudos again to the team for the late-order resilience and the great bowling and fielding. The law of averages must mean that the top order should fire next time around! Onwards and upwards lads, and let's take heart from all the positives that we showed second game running!
