Match report Great team effort to win Town's 2nd game out of 3.

Northwood Town won it's first toss of the season and elected to field first against a Bushey side that had won all three of its previous games; scored 200+ in two games, and bowled the opposition out under 50 twice!

On a dodgy pitch, Mitesh Parmar started off with a brilliant caught and bowled off a delivery which he got to hold off the pitch. From then on in, barring one batsmen for the opposition (who we kindly helped with multiple dropped catches - last time we do that boys!! No more freebies :)) - barring him, it was the Minesh and Mitesh show, who between them picked up 8 opposition wickets; Minesh Vadgama picking up his first (of many) five-wicket halls of the season! Kudos also to town's ground fielding, and Pradip Pandey's and Meeth Katira's bowling, both of whom bowled brilliantly against very good opposition batsmen, and would have had multiple wickets on most days, bowling that well! Credit to the opposition who hung around for the full 45 overs despite testing bowling from our bowlers, setting us 168 to win.

On debut for the 3s, up stands Vinodh Balakrishnan, scoring 68 fluently on the same tough wickets, and forming two excellent partnerships with Arjun Sahay (21) and Meeth Katira (21). Barring a rush of blood at the end, Town chased down a large total very comfortably, which was heartening to see. Kudos to Vinodh for playing a very mature inning, and to Meeth and Arjun for continuing to show great batting form.

Well done lads: bit more work on the catching required, but other than that, great bowling, great batting and great ground-fielding. Top stuff boys! Onwards and upwards.
