Match report The 1s ultimately lost out in a high scoring game against Cheshunt, but the team could be proud of a battling performance and more hard earned points.

After being put in to bat, Stephenson did the damage removing three of town's top 5. But from 67 for 5, Town moved into a commanding position with Burt (61) and Edgar (71) both contributing classy half centuries in a partnership of 109. Chan Silva then came in to blitz a superb unbeaten 35 to give Town an excellent total of 249 from their 50 overs.

Town's score of 249 should have been enough, but a superb ton from Grant and a patient 78 from Stephenson took the game away from Town as they struggled to make the key breakthrough and found themselves a slow bowler short, unable to stem the flow of runs.

The Town side fought bravely in the field and took 5 of the 6 wickets in the last few overs to make it a tight finish, but swinging from the hip proved sufficient for the Cheshunt tail enders and they finished the job with 3 balls to spare to record a deserved victory given the 167 partnership between Stephenson and Grant.

Town host Chipperfield at home on Saturday 28 May as they look to turn good performances into wins to push themselves back into contention at the top of the division.
