Match report Another loss for the unfortunate 2s as Luton Town and Indians pipped them in a close game

Having won the toss, Khetia elected to bowl. After an early wicket to Mapara and some exceptional bowling from Malik, the visitors soon settled in and looked to increase their run rate.

As they did though, the wickets fell at a steady rate and some very steady bowling from Kotecha and Maulin Patel kept progress in check.

As the overs passed, the visitors anxiously looked to press on and were pegged back brilliantly by Town in the field and eventually finished on 163 all out as Syed took 2 in an over.

The steady rain though, had brought some devil back into the wicket. With the openers dismissed early, the loss of Haji brought Vanker and Shah to the crease. A determined 66 run partnership briefly put Town in command.

Momentum shifted though as Vanker was given LBW off an audible inside edge. Cue the Town collapse as 3 wickets fell for as many runs and when Shah fell soon after the visitors were in the box seat.

Khetia however was out for some revenge. Delighting in a shamefully light onside field, he set about pummelling the attack with an 'If it bleeds we can kill it' attitude. Unfortunately it was not to be as the skipper was harshly deemed LBW, off the last ball, from the last recognised bowler.

Malik and Mapara were far from finished though, and with 3 overs left Malik played an outstanding pull shut to the delight of the pavilion. Sadly, with just 2 overs left, the curtain closed on Town's hopes, as Mapara's valiant stand came to an end.

Khetia had mixed feelings after the game - "It was one of those days. Sometimes the decisions go against you, but that's cricket - No DRS available at this level! Hats off to the visitors though, they played really well in some tough conditions and deserved the win in the end."
