Match report After a truly wretched game of cricket last time out, the 2s were glad to be back home and facing the far more civilised Harpenden IV.

Having been sent into the field, Malik set the tone with a cracking first over, moving the ball in the air and off a lively pitch. Wasi though, proved himself a star of the future though, breaking through with his first ball of the game.

It set the tone for a tremendous first 10 overs which yielded the top 6 Harpenden batsmen, the pick of which was Wasi yorking the skipper for a duck.

With Khetia smelling tailenders, the skipper honourably brought himself on and soon helped himself to a couple, the latter of which was arguably the worst delivery of a sketchy career!

The tail though began to wag, with the young pair of Lambert and Jones performing admirably to keep the Town attack, particularly Maulin Patel, at bay. Alas though, Lambert fell, courtesy of a sharp stumping from Haji, who added it to his 5 catches.

Cheesewright and Nic Patel then combined to runout Jones - just rewards for their own individual sparkling efforts in the field.

After the highlight of the day, the Marjorie Pimm tea, Town began in positive fashion.

Ramawat in particular looked completely at ease, despite the extra bounce on offer. Although both departed before the end, Pearson then played some classy shots to see the 2s home and all 30 points.

After the match, Khetia was rightfully ecstatic - "That was incredible. From the first ball to the last we dominated. Most impressive of all was the fielding though. Credit to the lads, brilliant today, long may it continue. A special mention to young Muzammil though, that opening spell was truly magnificent!"
