Match report On a cloudy and occasionally chilly day, The Mighty 3s visited Frogmore, a team which we had not yet beaten. Having lost the toss, Town were asked to bowl first on a very good batting track and it was Frogmore's openers who had the upper hand early on, scoring quickly with some good shots despite a couple of close shouts from our bowlers. The introduction of the Katira brothers into the attack paid dividend as firstly Taz slowed the scoring down and picked up a vital wicket, then Meeth bowled with incredible accuracy throughout his long spell and got his reward finally as Tailor took his first of two catches in another top display behind the stumps. Balakrishnan got in on the act with another breakthrough as did Khan, taking his first wicket for NTCC. A great spell at the death from Gordhandas and the returning Parmar, both taking a wicket apiece ensured that Town had something that was achievable to chase. After a pleasant tea everyone was treated to watch a feature length episode of "The Salman Show." As Pandey (43) played the supporting role, Rizvi (131*) played what was the greatest innings I've been privileged to watch and not even across the neighbouring road's houses nor cars were safe in a display of distance hitting that North Korea would be interested in. It wasn't just big shots though as he still had to keep out good deliveries and was able to see the job through to the end. He was also humble to acknowledge, even though his performance was magnificent, that it's a team effort and it was. Guys like Fanner backed up well in the field and ensured that spirits were high all day long. Even J.B. had a better day as skipper and is a very happy one with what the whole team produced today. Victory is a sweet taste, one which will have us thirsting for more next week.
