Pinner v Northwood Town Cricket Club Sunday XI on Sun 07 May 2017 at 1:30pm
Northwood Town Cricket Club Won by 6 wickets

Match report On a sunny but occasionally chilly day, the NTCC Sunday warriors visited our close friends and neighbours Pinner CC. The day was an extra special one as young Adi Patil and Harry Shaw from our Colts were making their senior debuts for Town and they didn't disappoint. The game started when Town skipper J.B, won the toss and decided to bowl first on good wicket with a fast outfield. Opening bowlers Malik and Daly bowled excellently with both creating chances as did Pandey when he came on. A sharp throw from Ram Patel managed to run out one of Pinner's batsmen but another partnership quickly developed. Needing a breakthrough Town turned to it's youth in Adi Patil who came on gave the batsmen lots to think about before a sharp catch on the final ball before drinks gave him his first senior wicket. He wasn't finished there either as clean bowled the next batsman for his second. Next came Harry Shaw who also bowled excellently and after giving the ball plenty of flight and attacking the batsmen, was so close to a stumping and almost took a blinder of a catch off of a ball that smashed back at him. Malik returned to grab a late wicket and Ram Patel picked up two which were well deserved after a good spell. One of those was a great catch in the deep by Patil, who along with his fellow debutant showed great application, confidence and quality in their fielding displays. After a wonderful tea as always from our hosts, Town were chasing 227 as openers Rizvi and Unalkat got us off to a good start before Pandey (48) and Suryanaryan Patel (107*) came to the crease to form a spectacular partnership and a batting display of the highest quality. When the former departed, Fanner helped Patel get us closer to line before he was joined by his brother at the end to watch him hit the winning runs and complete his maiden century for NTCC. What a brilliant knock he delivered us today! It was a great game from both teams and a nice day's cricket all-round. Of course most of the praise deserves to go to superstar Sunny but it was also a great team display with unity and enjoyment throughout. We were extremely proud to say today, that after all the commitment and efforts of our wonderful Colts coaches, the future generation of NTCC superstars are well on their way!
