Match report On a hot and sunny day The Mighty 3s travelled to Berkhamsted looking to put on a good performance in sweltering conditions. Berkhamsted won the toss and elected to bat on a hard pitch and quick outfield. With conditions against us Town's opening bowlers started well and created a couple of chances early on. It was an inspirational bit of fielding that got the breakthrough as Myring threw accurately in from the boundary, hitting the stumps to gain a run out. He then came on to bowl alongside Shaw who both were rewarded with a wicket each. Berhamsted's 3rd wicket partnership however put Town on the back as runs steadily built and in spite of a few late wickets the total ended up on 238. After a nice tea Town's top order didn't get off to the best of starts with three early losses but then Adatia (105) showed why he is the Ford Mustang amongst batsmen as he went from nought to sixty in no time with an innings that was beautiful yet powerful as he continuously sent the ball racing to the boundary. He went on to complete his century whilst being ably assisted at the other end by Rajput (49) who also played fluently and took Town into a good position. When both fell however the asking rate started to build despite the best efforts of the remaining batsmen we fell short of our target by 20 runs. We may have lost but we put in a spirited performance in the field and had a few decent performances with the bat, Adatia's century being the standout. At least we continued to show good fight.
