Match report On a hot summer's day The Mighty 3s took on St Albans in a close encounter. Having won the toss Town decided to bat first and were immediately suffering from our bad luck this season as Patel got a full toss first up, smashed it hard but unfortunately it was taken by a fielder. Naqvi arrived at the crease and played well like he had the previous few games and put together a very useful partnership with Jones who was batting fluently at the other end with some classy shots. After both had departed it was only Tailor with some late hitting that really pushed the score on as Town were bowled out for 133. After a wonderful tea provided by Marjorie Pimm the team went in hunt of wickets and Bahadur and Gordhandas were able to make early breakthroughs. Vadgama and Naqvi then joined the attack and were able to make good inroads into the St Albans batting line up. Khan was brought on to bowl and had an immediate effect taking two quick wickets to leave the game on a knife edge. Shaw bowling from the other end created several chances to take another wicket but sadly it didn't go our way and we were unable to prevent St Albans reaching their target. Even though we lost we still showed excellent fight out there today and were unlucky not to have got more from it.
