Match report A great all round performance from everyone with bat and ball.

Town lost the toss and were inserted onto what looked like a cracking and unpredictable pitch. Despite a few short balls (which were dispatched) the wicket generally played well and the openers Lal and Carrigan got off to a solid start. The opening partnership yielded 83 runs off the 1st 22 overs and set the scene for a decent 1st innings total. New member Kieran bolstered the score with a rapid and elegant 44, supported at the other end by a quickfire 21 from batting prodigy JB. Shaw and Firfire saw the innings to completion and ensured no bowling points were given away unecessarily. A good solid defendable total of 175 was posted.

After a lovely tea, the Town bowling machine roared into action leaving the hosts reeling at 92 for 7 after 30 overs. Parmar applied early pressure with a line that even GMT could not falter, taking 1 wicket but forcing the opposition into a pressure situation. At the other end young Vadgama enjoying rubbing the new ball like the proverbial genie and picked up 2 well deserved wickets which twisted and turned off the flat pitch. Bowling changes bought on the guiles and spin of Tailor and Mobeen both picking up 2 wickets a piece in a pivotal part of the game, Town continued to apply pressure. Despite some hefty blows from one of their colts time ran out and the hosts fell 42 runs short of the target.

Fabulous fielding (an IPL worthy run-out from Mobeen) and support of the bowlers continues to be our strength...let's continue witht he same passion and spirit on the pitch regardless of result. It continues to be a pleasure to lead this side.
