Match report Town travelled to Tewin this week looking to get another win keep up the momentum! Tewin won the toss and chose to bat first on what looked like a great batting pitch.

Town made an early breakthrough thanks to Kieron P when Tewin opening bat absolutely tried to leather a cover drive but instead getting an outside edge that went towards gully where A Burt took an absolute left-handed blinder millimetre from the ground. J Daly also got a wicket from the other end. Krunal P replacing Kieron although got a wicket but bowled absolute dross in 3 over spell he bowled more full tosses than the actual balls that pitched! I Anjum and N Madhavan bowled 20 over spell between them which barely went for any runs. N Madhavan in-particular being very effective picking up 3 wickets. S Modi bowled an over which was equivalent to skipper’s 3 bad overs but replacing him was J Halai and he cleaned up Tewin with bowling figures of 3.5-0-4-3. A Patel top scoring for Tewin with fine inning of 79. Tewin set target of 170.

Chasing 170 on a wicket that wasn’t offering much for the bowlers should not have been difficult. But Town’s batting continued to struggle finding themselves 15/3 in just 7.2 overs. It was down to I Anjum and A Burt to rescue Town again and they were on track to do it. They saw off Tewin opening bowlers and began to put a very strong partnership together. Both playing shots all around the ground and suddenly Town were 83/3 in 24 overs. However in the last over before the drinks I Anjum got out for a well-played 23 and in the over after the drinks A Burt departed with an inning of 37. Both put on 69 runs partnership to get Town back in the game. However no could stay at crease in lower order to support N Madhavan and Town were all out for 113.

Town will face unbeaten league leaders next week in Hatfield & Crusaders!
