Match report NTCC vs Bushey – A Scorcher of a Contest Ends in Heartbreak

On a blistering day at NTCC’s home ground, it wasn’t just the temperature that soared—so did emotions, intensity, and ultimately, disappointment. In a high-stakes clash against Bushey, skipper Shah lost the toss and to the dismay of his squad, Town were put in to field under a punishing sun.

Openers Rudra and Jeet rose to the challenge, setting the tone early with disciplined lines. Jeet, brimming with aggression and timely sledges, struck the first blow—his fiery spell backed by a sharp catch from Jay. The pressure was relentless as first-change bowlers Aashir and Jay turned the screws further. Aashir, in particular, was outstanding—snaring key wickets and dismantling Bushey’s middle order.

With KP and Harish cleaning up the tail, NTCC bowled Bushey out for 136 in 33.5 overs, a strong all-round bowling display that had the home fans buzzing.

The chase began positively, with openers Bijendra and Jay showing intent. Bijendra found the boundary early, but the oppressive heat and mounting pressure soon claimed him. What followed was a middle-order meltdown—NTCC slumping to 65-5 in a flash.

A glimmer of hope came via Mitesh and Rudra, who steadied the innings with a gritty partnership, rotating the strike and capitalizing on loose deliveries. But when Rudra was caught, the resistance faded. The tail offered little support, and Town were ultimately bowled out for 118 in 36.3 overs—falling agonizingly short despite the bowlers’ stellar work.

Post-match, a visibly frustrated Skipper Shah stated:

“I’m tired of seeing the middle order keep failing. They need to take responsibility and play mature innings. It’s teamwork that wins games.”

There’s plenty to reflect on, but also reasons for optimism. The bowling unit delivered under pressure, and with better batting application, this is a match NTCC could—and should—have won.

Onwards and upwards. Let’s bounce back stronger next game, lads.
