Match report Smashed it....

On a warm but mostly overcast day the Unstoppable 4s welcomed Berkhampsted 5s to Chestnut Avenue looking to avenge a loss from earlier in the season. Having lost the toss Town were asked to bat first on a dry, flat wicket. Openers Javaid and Devine got us off to a good start with the former crashing some superb boundaries until he got one that kept low. The rate was up at 6 runs an over as Toor and Hirani supported well at the other end. Then enter the man in form Jayminbhai Patel (56) as he played a fluent, aggressive innings, pushing the score above a hundred at drinks as he formed another partnership with Dalwadi. Town had however lost 7 wickets at this stage and when Patel went it Butt who took up the mantle hitting a very useful 36 as he and stand in skipper J.B pushed the score up to 177 by the end of our innings. After the break opening bowlers Butt and Shah kept things tight early on and were each rewarded with a wicket apiece. Pradhan then came on and was threatening as he trapped their number 3 plumb infront. Hirani then joined the attack and bowled excellently, taking 4 wickets in the process for very few runs. Town were well on top at this stage so why not bowl J.B who along with a caught and bowled managed to produce the "Shane Warne" delivery hitting the top of off when it looked like it was going for 5 wides. Town took their foot off the gas in the final overs as we missed the chance to take the final wicket and gave away some cheap runs otherwise the margin of victory would have been even greater as we ran out winners by 57 runs. It was a great team performance today set up by our highest score of the season to date but the bowling was also good and Brahmbhatt was terrific behind the stumps. MOTM Jayminbhai Patel
