Match report This weekend saw Division 10s 2nd place rivals Northwood visit Chestnut Avenue. Northwood lost the toss and NTCC 3s skipper decided to bowl first on a wicket that had been sweating under the covers and had turned the same shade of green as the incredible hulk.

Well.....what a great decision it proved to be. Our opening bowling attack of Henry (3 wickets), Rudra and Jay (1 wicket apiece) shredded Northwood's top order leaving them exasperating at 40-4 after 15 overs. All three quicks were supreme in their line and length. Henry managed good bounce from the pavilion end with "Tyson...esque" precision, he kept the batsmen hopping around on their crease. At the other end Rudra bowled with such cunning and guile to keep the batsmen guessing which way the ball would move next. Jay bowled with accuracy and maturity panicking the batsmen into false shots. Our fielding was exemplary this week , Kishan took a super catch in the gully to start the slide, followed by JB who swooped to his left to take one-handed catch which can only be described as magical and had the crowd off their seats. Later Henry took a exocet flying catch off his own bowling and another well judged catch at square leg. Normally at this point NTCC would release the pressure valve but several inspired group huddles and the screws were turned tighter. Meet knocked over the sticks on 3 occasions bamboozling and confuddling the opposition in his magnificent 5 over spell. JB (2 wickets) wiped up the tail with his flighted leg breaks and the curtain drew at 62 all out after 25 overs.

NTCC top order knocked out the runs in 19 overs, great hitting by Jay (18) and Meet (29) kept the runs flowing and fielders chasing.

Today we bought our A game to the pitch, we know we can play to this level and when we don't self-inflict, our potential is unlimited.....onwards
