Match report NTCC won the toss and elected to bowl first preferring a chase on a wicket which looked like there was plenty of life in it. We opened the bowling with Shahmir and Abhay; both of which did a terrific job at keeping the opening batsman quiet as well as all the team keeping the field tight and preventing the singles which shifted the pressure on to Pinner more and more. The first wicket dropped in the 6th over when Abhay got one of the openers out lbw. Abhay then striked again in the 10th getting an outside edge and with Vice captain Dhaval taking a terrific slip catch.

We then brought on our second change bowlers of Ibbad and Vivek who also bowled terrifically and further the progress of the opening boys by keeping the runs and testing the batsmen well. Vivek struck in his second over by removing the opening batsman which was caught and then went on to get a further wicket in his fourth over. This got us to a healthy position of having taken 4 wickets for only 38 runs by the 18th over. After drinks we brought our opening pair of Sharmir and Abhay back on which would turn out to be very fruitful with Abhay taking a further 3 wickets in as many overs bowled and Shahmir dismissing Pinners number 4 LBW after a long stay at the crease. Dhaval and Saad came on towards the end to clean up the tail and done so very well taking a wicket each. An excellent show of bowling and fielding tightly restricted Pinner to a total of 106 all out.

Sam and Abs then came in to kick off Town's innings and we're very successful in doing so running well and briskly between the wickets and calling very well where extras and flicks off the pads were on offer. The pressure created by the great energy and active work by the opening pair forced more extras and by the 12th over they were 54 without loss. A change of bowlers brought on a spinner who was successful in his second over where a ball which kept low dismantled Sam's bails. A strategic decision by vice captain Dhaval brought in Ibbad who played with freedom from the get go and started to hit some big shots quickly scoring a fabulous 42 inside 6 overs before getting caught with just 2 runs left to win the match! Prax then came in and had a short stay where after a wide ball he then got bowled to what the umpire called a no ball which became the deciding run to win the match. NTCC, with a great opening batting partnership and wonderful knock from Ibbad quickly chased Pinner 4s down inside 19 overs with 8 wickets in hand.

A very welcome first win on the season and done so in great style. NTCC player of the match was Abhay with his terrific bowling figures of 4-15 off 8 overs. We will take this confidence and form into next week and the season there on after!
