It is with deep sadness that I announce the death of Rao Ganisetti. Never short of a smile and full of enthusiasm, Rao will be greatly missed by the club and its members. His passing is nothing short of a tragedy and many of you will be shocked to hear this sudden and horrible news.

Since joining the club in 2010, Rao will have been a teammate and friend to many of you and his cheerful presence at the club was warmly welcomed. Always keen to improve his game (and enthusiastically appeal for literally anything while bowling), Rao certainly made a very positive impression and at this very sad time I hope we can all treasure the memories of his time at the club.

Understandably many of you will want to know more details, but at this stage all I can say is that Rao's death has been confirmed by multiple sources. Since hearing some news on this subject yesterday evening I was praying it was a mistake or untrue (and really still am), but further enquiries today sadly confirmed the news to be true.

As a club, I hope we can all raise a glass in his honour at the start of the new season and always fondly remember him and his time at the club.
