Match report NORTHWOOD TOWN were resoundly beaten by an impressive Abbots Langley side who took advantage of an early lively wicket that had taken time to recover from the morning showers.

Town batted first and Abbots bowled a fine line to snare both Hodges and Robbins early on. Scott Walker (23)and Richard Doling (41) knuckled down to try and force Town back into the match. However their partnership
of 32 was broken when Walker became the third player to be caught behind. From here it was downhill as Abbots took full advantage of favourable conditions and poor shot selection. Skipper David Bushnell provided some sort of rearguard action as he notched an unbeaten 20 not out, but the hosts were dismissed for a paltry looking 126.

In reply Abbots were in no hurry to chase the low target and their disciplined approach frustrated the hosts bowling attack. Bushnell rotated the bowling regularly but Town struggled to break down the resistance. Johannes Van Ee
picked up 2-34 but those were the only two wickets as Abbots eased home with eight wickets in hand.
