Match report After winning the toss Captain Firfire elected to bat first against their local rivals. After 13 overs Town were making steady progress at 51-2 having just lost Senanayaka (13) with Hobday (2/55) being the pick of Eastcote’s bowlers. JOHANNES Van Ee (21) played a brief cameo smashing 5 Fours including 4 consecutive fours off the bowling of Richardson but was well caught on the boundary attempting another boundary off the bowling of Radia (1/45).

The stage was set for last week’s Centurion Kyle Lawrence. Anchored superbly by Shaun O’Neill (58*); Lawrence (115*) masterfully stroked his way to a second successive century for Town bringing up his hundred with a huge six over long on. The pair put on a partnership of 172 to take Town to a formidable 245.

Firfire opened the bowling with the reliable Daly (0/12) and the hugely impressive Conor O’Neill (2/39) who snared the wicket of their captain and opener Maxted (20). After 20 overs Eastcote were 62-2 and well behind the run rate with victory largely out of sight. Taking minimal risks Eastcote batted sensibly to see out the overs and score 170. Puri (50) was the pick of Eastcote’s batsmen before being caught and bowled by the off-spin of Van Ee (3/26) in the 45th over.
