NORTHWOOD TOWN gained a vital 30 points as a devastating bowling performance blew Clifton away.
Winning the toss, the visitors decided to bat but were left regretting it from the very first ball as Dom Whyley (1-24) snared their opener, aided by a smart catch by keeper Scott Walker who was to take four during the innings.
Clifton regained their composure and fought their way to 46-1 before the middle order collapsed leaving them in dire trouble at 55-5. Veer Vadgama was the architect of the downfall as he was to take 5-25 off 11 overs.
Mo Abassi was introduced to polish off the tail and he succeeded with 3-18 as the visitors were dismissed for 105.

Town's recent poor form meant that they were taking nothing for granted but Naresh Kumar (20) and Scott Walker (22)
showed their intent from the start with an attacking mentality. Walker was dismissed the ball before tea to give the visitors some hope at 49-2. A couple of early wickets after tea caused some concern before vice captain Michael Lister (16 not out) and skipper David Bushnell (15 not out) guided the hosts home with a partnership of 44.
