Match report It was a very bad day at the office for Town 2's, a day in which most of the players had wished they had called in sick.

Losing the toss to Leverstock Green 3's, Town were put into bat. With disciplined bowling and fielding, Town were pegged down from the outset. Only Abdul Firfire, opening the batting, produced signs of resistance and returned a useful knock of 21. Alas, that was the only bright spot of an innings that can at best be described as 'very disappointing.' Yes, the opposition bowling was tight with balls placed in the right channels, but unfortunately too many Town batsmen just simply didn't look 'up for it' and as a result a very poor 77 all out was the final outcome.

With early wickets required to salvage some pride and valuable bowling points on offer, Town were not helped by some harsh umpiring decisions in the Leverstock Green innings - Shahmeer Syed having 2 plum LBW appeals rejected in the very first over. Viraj Manek provided some smart bowling for the quickly fading fielders as his 5 overs went for just 9 runs.

But then quickly that was it, game over. No wickets, no points and nothing of sorts to take out of a retched game for Town. But wait, Town did not bowl any wides! Hmmm. Leverstock Green - 81 for 0.

"An incredibly disappointing day for the 2's in which momentum should have been with us after the previous weeks fine performance. Our players on show will certainly have to take a hard, long look at themselves and know that selection issues will inevitably arise from this poor performance."
