Match report May 26th 2012, league match number three for the Mighty 3s. Match played at home against Stevenage VI (SG6).

SG6 won the toss and elected to bat. Town’s seam bowlers M.Parmar (10ovrs, 1mdn, 37runs, 0wkts) and M.Katira (8ovrs, 1mdns, 28runs, 0wkts) provided their usual controlled and consistent spell surprisingly for no reward. S.Khetia(4ovrs , 1mdns, 16runs, 0wkts) and D.Harding(3ovrs , 0mdns, 19runs, 0wkts) fort hard to make a breakthrough without much luck too. Having been relinquished of his part role as wicket keeper 3s’ P.Tailor(14ovrs , 0mdns, 45runs, 4wkts) was back to what he loves doing, bowling. P.Tailor’s bowling removed SG6s’ top four batsman including A.Vinny who fell 1 short of his half century. A.Firfire (5ovrs, 0mdns, 18runs, 1wkts ) and J.Sagoo(3ovrs, 0mdns, 8runs, 1wkts ) also chipped in with 2 additional wickets. SG6 finished with a competitive 179 on the board after 47 overs.

Chasing a target of 180 runs Town needed a run rate of 4.12runs an over. Town fancied their chances and where in confident mood, however SG6s’ opening bowlers disagreed with that thinking. L.Hulley(11ovrs, 1mdns, 31runs, 3wkts ) and S.Kantipoodi(18ovrs, 1mdns, 40runs, 2wkts ) removed J.Bentvelzen(2), R.Patel(0) and T.Katira(0) with just 16 runs on the board. Once again A.Firfire (18, 1x4s) provided great resilience and collectively with H.Patel(15, 3x4s) managed to return some creditability to the scoreboard. Once S.Kantipoodi and Hulley removed wickets 4 and 5, S.Khetia(14, 2x4s) ensured the scoreboard kept ticking along before the loss of the 6 wicket. With the scoreboard on 69 for 6, M.Parmar(not out 30, 3x4s) and J.Sagoo(15, 2x4s) provided yet another display of the Mighty 3s ‘fight to the end spirit’. They buckled down and build a partnership of 54 runs of 17 overs before J.Sagoo was caught out. D.Harding (14, 3x4s) provided an excellent last minute sparkle which reward Town with a well deserved draw.
