Match report June 21st 2012, league match number eleven for the Mighty 3s. After what has felt like an eternity the sun finally decided to show his face. Just as well considering there were only four league matches left before the end of the season. This match was played against Harpenden VI (HP6). Town won the toss and elected to bowl.

Town’s M.Parmar (13ovrs, 2mdn, 17runs, 3wkts) right from the first ball was on top form dismissing HP6s’ top 3 batsman. V.Manek (13overs, 2mdn, 21runs, 1wkts) compounded the pressure on HP6s’ batsman with his pace which also kept Town’s H.Patel on his toes behind the stumps. M.Vadgama (7.5overs, 1mdn, 8runs, 4wkts) with J.Daly (5 overs, 1mdn, 11runs, 2wkts) cleaned up HP6s’ wickets. The super star of HP6s innings was Jake Lambert (Under 13) number 10 batsman who came out to bat with no fear and produced a master class in batting scoring a rapid 27 runs. A prime example of the resourceful colts programme. HP6 finished their innings with 87 runs on the board.

Town’s innings started in the worse possible manner with the early lose of H.Patel in the first over with no runs on the board. However, S.Thakar was determined to prove he can score more than 28runs and boy did he do that is style, hitting 54 not out (6sx3, 4sx3) with good support from S.Khetia (16, 4sx2).

Mighty 3s, great effort all round. Next stop Watford Town IV.
