Match report Northwood Town got their Chess Valley campaign off to a flying start as they comfortably beat Hemel Hempstead II at Chestnut Avenue. Skipper Akshay Loomba lost the toss and Town were asked to field. Hemel started solidly but when Sachin Dave finally had Locke removed in the 10th over it started an epic collapse for Hemel. Dave and Vadgama bowled superbly unchanged for 20 overs as Hemel crashed from 30/0 to 50/7 by the time the pair had bowled their overs. Vadgama finished with 3/18 while Dave accurate line and length earned him 4/29. The tail provided some minor resistance but the Kotecha brothers and Jon Bentvelzen picked up a wicket each to end the visitors innings, all out for 80.

In reply, Town were mindful of the forecast rain coming in and began positively. Openers Jim Cotton and skipper Loomba fell cheaply but Vadgama and Adam Hills put on 46 for the third wicket in quick time and despite losing a couple of late wickets, Ravi Kotecha supported Vadgama who scored 28 not out in winning the game.
